Terms & Conditions
The boring but necessary bit
These Terms & Conditions apply to Doggums Private Members’ Owner Club (“the Club”). They exist to protect the welfare, safety, and happiness of all dogs involved, and to make expectations clear for members.
Nothing in these terms constitutes an offer of services to the public. Participation is by prior application, assessment, and acceptance only, entirely at the discretion of the Club.
Status of the Club
Doggums operates as a private members’ owner club.
It is not a public boarding business, kennel, or commercial service.
Membership, participation, and any care arrangements are discretionary and conditional.
Viewing the website, making an enquiry, or reading these terms does not create any entitlement to membership or arrangements.
Home‑from‑Home Care (Private Arrangement)
The Club facilitates small‑group, home‑from‑home care arrangements within a private household environment.
Dogs:
Stay as part of the household
May mix with other carefully matched dogs
Are accepted only where compatibility and welfare allow
All dogs must be:
Comfortable around other dogs
Friendly with people and children
Able to settle in a shared home environment
The Club reserves the right to decline or end arrangements if a dog is no longer suitable for a shared home setting.
Multiple Dogs From the Same Household
The Club may accept more than one dog from the same household.
Acceptance is subject to suitability, size, needs, and compatibility
Care contributions for multiple dogs vary and are agreed in advance
No automatic entitlement exists for additional dogs
Drop‑Off & Pick‑Up Times
Drop‑Off
Times are agreed in advance by private arrangement
Flexibility is offered where reasonably possible
Any drop‑off time counts as a full day’s care contribution
Members must adhere to agreed times due to pre‑planned walks and care routines
Pick‑Up
Collection before 10:00am on the final day: no additional contribution
Collection after 10:00am: charged as a full day
Contributions & Arrangements
All financial amounts are membership or care contributions, not fees for public services.
Contributions must be paid in full before drop‑off
First Confirmed Arrangement
50% contribution at confirmation
Remaining balance due before drop‑off
Subsequent Arrangements
A £90 deposit is required to reserve agreed dates
The Club reserves the right to decline future arrangements at any time.
Cancellations
Cancellations more than 28 days before the agreed date: full refund
Cancellations within 14 days: deposit retained
Collection & Drop‑Off Assistance
Collection and drop‑off may be offered as a private assistance arrangement
£10 contribution within an 8‑mile radius
Additional distance may incur further contribution
Bank Holidays
An additional £10 per day contribution applies to arrangements covering:
Easter
Christmas
New Year
All UK Bank Holidays
What to Bring
Members must provide:
Usual food (to avoid dietary upset)
Regular treats
Bed, crate, or comfort items if used at home
Toys (where appropriate)
The Club may offer natural, treats where suitable for the dog.
Updates
Members may receive daily updates, including photos and messages, at the Club’s discretion. Updates are a courtesy, not an obligation.
Medication & Health
Members must disclose:
All medication requirements
Clear dosage and administration instructions
Any known medical conditions
Food Allergies & Intolerances
Members must provide details of:
Feeding quantities and schedules
Allergies or intolerances
The household uses natural and homemade cleaning products and has hard flooring downstairs.
Veterinary Details & Emergencies
Members must supply:
Registered veterinary practice details
An emergency contact number
The Club has access to a 24‑hour veterinary surgery nearby.
In the event of illness or injury, the Club will act in the dog’s best interests and contact the owner as soon as reasonably possible.
Behaviour & Temperament Disclosure
Full disclosure is required of any behavioural traits, including:
Reactivity to people, dogs, bikes, or noises
Resource guarding (food, toys, balls)
Recall reliability and lead requirements
Known triggers or quirks
Failure to disclose relevant information may result in immediate termination of arrangements.
Puppies, Large Dogs & Additional Needs
Additional care contributions may apply for:
Puppies
Large dogs
Dogs with additional care or behavioural needs
Multiple dogs from the same household
All such matters are discussed and agreed in advance.
Insurance & Liability
The Club holds public liability insurance
Dogs participate entirely at the owner’s risk
While all reasonable care is taken:
Veterinary costs remain the responsibility of the owner unless caused by proven negligence
Owners remain responsible for any injury or damage caused by their dog to another dog, person, or property
Communication & Changes
Members must notify the Club as soon as reasonably possible of:
Changes to drop‑off or pick‑up times
Amendments to agreed dates
Cancellations
Clear and timely communication is essential to the smooth running of the Club.
