What to Bring

Please provide:

  • Your dog’s usual food (to avoid tummy upsets)

  • Any treats your dog regularly eats

  • Bed, crate, or comfort items if used at home

  • Toys (if appropriate)

We do provide natural treats, but these will only be given if suitable for your dog.

Daily Updates

We provide daily updates, including photos and messages, so you can share in your dog’s walks, playtime, cuddles, and adventures while you’re away.

Medication & Health

Please inform us of:

  • Any medication your dog requires

  • Dosage and administration instructions

  • Any known medical conditions

Food Allergies & Intolerances

Please let us know:

  • Feeding quantities and number of feeds per day

  • Any allergies or intolerances

We use natural and homemade products in the home and have hard flooring downstairs.

Veterinary Details & Emergencies

Please provide:

  • Your registered veterinary practice

  • An emergency contact number

We have access to a 24-hour veterinary surgery in the village across from us (Milton) in case of emergencies.

In the event of illness or injury, we will always act in your dog’s best interests and contact you as soon as possible.

Behaviour & Temperament

It is essential that we are aware of any behavioural traits, including but not limited to:

  • Reactivity to people, dogs, bikes, or noises

  • Resource guarding (food, toys, balls)

  • Recall reliability and lead requirements

  • Any known quirks or triggers

This helps us keep everyone safe and happy.

Puppies, Large Dogs & Additional Needs

Additional compensation may apply for:

  • Puppies

  • Large dogs

  • Dogs with additional care or behavioural needs

  • Multiple dogs from the same household

This will always be discussed openly in advance.

Insurance & Liability

Doggums holds public liability insurance.

While every care is taken to ensure your dog’s safety, dogs stay with us at the owner’s risk.
Any veterinary costs arising from illness or injury remain the responsibility of the owner unless caused by proven negligence.

If a dog causes injury to another dog, person, or property, responsibility remains with the dog’s owner.

Communication & Changes

We understand travel plans can change. Please let us know as soon as possible if:

  • Drop-off or pick-up times change

  • Dates need to be amended

  • A booking needs to be cancelled

Open communication is always appreciated.
